‘A labor of love and sacrifice’

The 129 members of the UF College of Medicine class of 2020 became physicians in a virtual ceremony May 16, adding the initials "M.D." to their names and joining the front lines.

Members of the class of 2020 picked up their diplomas by appointment during the week leading up to the virtual commencement ceremony and took commemorative photos while keeping social distancing guidelines in mind. With a keepsake pen, they each signed their names to the Hippocratic Oath, adding the initials “M.D.” to their names for the first time.
