The College of Medicine announced Tuesday that Alumni Weekend 2017 will continue as planned. As the state began the massive recovery process from Hurricane Irma, we vigorously assessed the impact of the storm on our alumni, friends and residents of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina as well as the area’s transportation, housing, infrastructure and emergency response capabilities. Fortunately, UF and College of Medicine facilities were spared from major damage. With these considerations in mind, it was determined that moving forward with all scheduled events would not negatively affect the recovery.

We will send further information regarding registration refund options for those who are unable to attend due to the hurricane. The Gators will take on Tennessee at Ben Hill Griffin stadium as originally planned, with a 3:30 pm kickoff time. If you have questions, please contact us at (352) 273-5939 or drgator@health.ufl.edu.

For those who can travel to Gainesville this weekend, we hope that the opportunity to rekindle old friendships reminds us of how truly fortunate we are to be part of the UF College of Medicine family.

We know that many people have suffered significant loss, especially in the Keys, South Florida and Jacksonville. If you have been impacted by the hurricane, please know you are in our thoughts, and we wish you and your family the best during this recovery period.
